When I first took a look at ‘Quit My 9 to 5‘ I have to admit I was skeptical. Who wouldn’t be with a name like that, especially after so many affiliate marketing products out there which promise the earth and deliver nothing, well close to nothing anyway.

They all seem to have one thing in common. They give you only a few pieces of a giant jigsaw so that you never quite learn enough to be able to repeat the same successes as the vendors themselves. Sound familiar? Quit My 9 to 5 promised to be different so we thought we’d take a look.

For a start my guard softened a bit with the distinct absence of upsells which seem to accompany internet marketing products these days, although I still noted a air of scarcity in the sales approach. It’s not difficult to calculate roughly how many of these are being sold so why bother to say there’s a limit which is obviously far less than what are actually being sold?

On top of that given the price less disbursements, why would the developers go to the trouble of building a product which must have taken many weeks (or months) to put together for such a small return. After all, they are making over $20,000 a day right?

Internet marketers know that by adding scarcity it encourages sales, and upsells always work better when the buyer has their credit card already out from a previous payment. Heck the tactic works offline as well. How many times have you bought more than you intended to when you were at point of sale?

Anyway, sales and marketing tactics aside, it seems we have become desensitized to such things any how, the sale and after-sales process went smoothly on (almost) instantly.

After payment you are sent a receipt email which includes your username (the email used for your purchase) and a password. You use these to access the private member website where you find the training videos, support forum product lists, traffic sources and the “software” you use to create your ad campaigns.

The “software” is in inverted commas because let’s face it, it’s not really a software as we would normally define one. It’s really a series of scripts on the website which allow users to enter their product of choice, advert preferences, and the scripts churn out an ad campaign which can be plugged into the various ‘traffic sources’.

Some would argue that is still a software, but our normal definition of software is something you install on your computer. Semantics aside, it does what it is suppose to do, and that is to give you a ready made advert which you can then post to the suggested traffic sources.

The traffic sources themselves are nothing magical or mystical, especially for those of use who have been in this industry for long enough. For those who are new to internet marketing then this would be a very valuable part of the course work. How to find the right target markets for the products you choose to promote.

One thing’s for sure, and they are correct in the training part, if you don’t hit the bullseye in an ad campaign you won’t find it profitable. You need a direct hit each time. That’s true also for the free traffic sources if you consider the time you spend working on it as having a dollar value.

Finally the products they suggest to promote are very clever indeed. As well as the usual relatively low priced Clickbank type products there are a bunch of high priced items which pay a great commission (several thousand dollars) for each and every sale.

It’s important to point out here that despite what they say in the sales page you won’t sell three of these an hour, but even one a month would make a big difference to anyone’s pocket. Perhaps you can sell more, but in our opinion you’d need to have stumbled on some ‘X’ factor in order to do so.

Here’s a quick synopsis of what’s included in the video tutorials:

Video 1: Covers some of the fundamentals of internet marketing that everyone needs to be aware of. Experienced IM’ers will find this old hat although it never hurts to go trhough it again to make sure you haven’t missed anything important.

Video 2: Shows you footage of the built in campaigns actually running and making money. At the very least you’ll be able to see how and why these work when yours haven’t.
